View Health – chemo@home’s Leader of Clinical Delivery, Stacy McGreal, recently presented a case study at the Cancer Nurses Society of Australia, Annual Congress in Brisbane, QLD.
The presentation titled “Collaborative Approach to Treating Hospital Avoidant Patients” showed how by working collaboratively with the hospital-based oncology team we enabled a hospital-avoidant patient to receive lifesaving treatment where he would otherwise have none. Ensuring the same few nurses attended to the patient regularly enabled rapport and trust to develop, which helped to dissipate anxiety resulting in treatment adherence.
