The 2024 Australians of the Year, Prof Georgina Long AO and Prof Richard Scolyer AO, were the chairs of the recent Australian Melanoma Conference in Sydney.
The team at View Health – chemo@home were delighted to have two posters on their award-winning service at this prestigious event.
The first was presented by our Director, Lorna Cook, and was titled “No Boundaries; Have melanoma – will travel”. It is a wonderful case study showing how at-home treatment can follow you where ever you go (well almost!), and treatment does not have to restrict your ability to live life to the maximum. The second presentation was by Patricia Cook, ECU PhD candidate. Patricia’s research, using a constructivist grounded theory approach, is titled “More than Just Convenience; Patient Experiences with Home-based Immunotherapy Infusions”. The research is ground-breaking, showing for the first time how home-based immunotherapy relieved patients’ physical, emotional, family and financial burdens. In addition, they added significant value in terms of privacy, trust, well-being and empowerment for patients. You can view the poster here.
