View Health – chemo@home and Patricia Cook, ECU PhD Candidate, collaborated on a recent project and the initial findings were presented at the recent Cancer Nursing Society of Australia annual meeting, titled “More than Just Convenience- Patient Experiences of Home-based Immunotherapy Infusions- A New Constructivist Grounded Theory (CGT).”
For the first time, the patient’s voice was heard regarding the value View Health – chemo@home provides.
There were two main themes:
1. The relief of burdens associated with having to travel to the hospital,
2. Other values to the patient: Normalisation of life, Empowerment, Respecting patients’ time, Dignity, and maintaining self-identity.
It is exciting that it is finally documented, and we will be able to share this at the right time with all!
We also wish to congratulate Patricia Cook as she also won the best presentation for a first-time presenter.
