The comfort and convenience of having chemo@home
Embarking on your chemotherapy journey can feel like a daunting time, but it doesn’t have to be when you receive treatment in the safety and privacy of your own home.
The anxiety felt by needing to travel to a hospital to receive chemotherapy, especially during the pandemic, can be very high, particularly when your immune system is compromised. Travelling to the hospital for chemotherapy may also involve the inconvenience of being frequently tested for COVID-19.
You may find it more convenient to have a nurse come to your home or workplace to administer chemotherapy or immunotherapy (both for cancer and for chronic illnesses such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis or inflammatory bowel disease).
Having a fully qualified nurse bring the treatment to you, can alleviate the stress, hassle and high costs associated with travelling to and from the hospital, including the parking fees, which can really start to add.
Many of our patients say that they feel more relaxed, at ease, and comfortable when receiving their cancer or immunotherapy treatment from our highly-skilled, professional nursing staff at home, compared to when they had their treatment in hospital or day units.
You may also enjoy being less reliant on carers or child care when being treated at home and you can feel safe in the knowledge that there is the added security of our 24 hours a day, 7 days week phone contact support line so that you can feel connected to and cared for by our dedicated nursing professionals.
The cost of View Health – chemo@home is covered by most health funds with NO out of pocket expenses or annual health fund excesses and there are other funding options available for patients without private health insurance.
Our nursing and pharmacy teams are dedicated professionals who have extensive experience in the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other supportive care medications. These treatments are administered either intravenously – via injection into a vein, or subcutaneously – injected under the skin. View Health – chemo@home also administers other medications which may be required during treatment and our pharmacy team will ensure management of the supply of all necessary medications.
The majority of chemotherapy and immune therapies can be administered in-home, and you can call our team for a no-obligation discussion about eligibility and suitability for home-based infusion treatment.
View Health – chemo@home are proud to be Australia’s leading in-home chemotherapy infusion provider and to offer our professional home-based cancer treatment to people with cancer or chronic illnesses, all across the country and the state of Victoria. Safe, discreet and comfortable, choosing to be treated at home provides you with a calm, relaxed environment in which to be cared for by our health professionals.
Our nursing team travels across Melbourne and to some regional and rural areas, including Geelong, to treat you in the safety, comfort and privacy of your own home – saving time, hassle and the additional stress of travelling to and from hospitals and day units to receive treatment.
Our dedicated local nursing and pharmacy team service suburbs statewide – making the whole treatment experience as convenient, relaxing and comfortable for you and your family as it possibly can be. Save yourself from the additional stress, worry and discomfort of being treated in hospital, and be treated safely and discreetly in the privacy and comfort of your own home.
